NIRVANA

Nirvana was a hugely influential American rock band from Aberdeen, Washington, formed in 1987 by Kurt Cobain (vocals/guitar) and Krist Novoselic (bass), with Dave Grohl (drums) joining in 1990; they became the flagship band of the 1990s grunge movement, fusing punk and metal with raw energy, bringing alternative rock to the mainstream with their 1991 album Nevermind, and profoundly impacting music culture before ending with Cobain's death in 1994.
